Mark in Chemistry - Update

I know two people voted for me to have my next blog be about an embarrassing story. I will do that but first I really just need to get the latest Mark news off my chest and then my next blog will be so embarrassing that you'll probably stop reading half way through...

What has Mark been wearing?
Let us have a look!
I've been taking note of what he's been wearing for the last 8 days of class...

Day 1- White Polo with red and blue lines around collar and sleeves.
Day 2- Green Nike Sweater (He honestly never mentioned a sweater)
Day 3- Navy Blue BYU-Idaho shirt
Day 4- Salmon color button up with a red fleece vest
Day 5- Plaid green button up shirt
Day 6- White button up shirt with brown vest
Day 7- Green BYU-I t-shirt
Day 8- Navy blue BYU-Idaho shirt

Well, well, WELL! Mark has MORE than 5 shirts! HA! I knew it.
Yesterday I saw him walking in my direction on the sidewalk on campus. When I got within about 5 feet of him I said "MARK! Pop quiz! What's my name!?"
All surprised he stepped back a few steps and started whispering to himself "Oh... ooh.. oh.. don't tell me... Peeterrr... no no.. and it's not Jaaaammmeess... Jacob?... No.... umm...."
"It's Nephi, Mark." "OH! Right, Nephi. Sorry, I haven't done my swimming yet today so I'm a little bit out of it" He says as if it's a legit excuse.
Today he actually knew my name though. I didn't even have to tell it to him. He is so close to being my friend. My new rule is that he has to call me by my name 5 times without me telling him what my name is. THEN....he'll be my friend.

Mark in Chemistry 4

Once again I got to class a little bit early and guess who was the ONLY other person in the classroom? I wish I could say it was some other person but it wasn't...it was Mark. He was sitting in a different spot yet again. He hasn't seemed to understand that everyone generally sits in the same seats after the first 3 days of school. Everyday he chooses another random spot to sit in and it confuses everyone that usually sits around those seats really bad. ANYWAY, so I went and sat a few seats away from him and I decided to try to say hi to him again. So, I said "Hey Mark!" He looked at me CONFUSED... AGAIN... and said " Oh.... .. ... .. Hi... um, person... I don't... know... your... naaaamee..." I said "It's Nephi" and he said "Oh! Ok, that's easy to remember!" and I said "I don't know, some people have a hard time with it"
So, he is for sure a handful. He is for sure not my friend unless he says HI to ME first next time. I'm not talking to him again unless he talks to me FIRST.
Also, the last two days I've taken note of what shirts he's been wearing. Yesterday was a white polo shirt with blue and red lines around the neck and sleeves. Today, the liar decided to wear a green Nike sweater. He never said ANYTHING about a sweater.
Whatever.

Mark in Chemistry 3

Mark didn't even sit by me today. Not even on the same side of the classroom. He's a real piece of work. Once again he acted like he had never met me before by not making eye contact when I walked past him. He really is up to no good at all. He made a comment in class about how much fun the first quiz was and "highly recommended" that everyone else in that class should take it. Why wouldn't we take the quiz? He's just a liar, straight up. So... I've decided to catch him in his ridiculousness by recording the shirts he wears every day. If he comes to class with what appears to be a 6th shirt... then I win and he loses. On top of all of this, there is a girl in the class that has the craziest laugh I've ever heard. The best way to explain it is the sound effect you hear when you're watching the spanish channel and someone slips and falls. Pretty cool laugh right? Yea, I know but it still doesn't change the fact that Mark is a jerk.

Mark in Chemistry 2

So, I went to Chemistry again today. Mark was there ( the kid with only 5 shirts.) I sat down next to him and said "Hey Mark!" He looked at me all surprised and said "How do you know my name?!" I responded with "You told me" Then he said "When?!" and I said "Yesterday, exactly 24 hours ago..." and he said "Oh... you have a good memory. Much better than mine" and I said "Well, I recognized you by your coat" He then said "What?" and I said "..................never mind"
Mark isn't really my friend anymore. He totally used me just for some bored conversation the other day and then all of the sudden when there are other people in the classroom he acts like he's too good to even remember me. Jerk. He can still be my friend though maybe. We'll see how tomorrow goes. If he's too good for me tomorrow then it's over. No friend.

Mark in Chemistry

I got to class today a little bit early. There was only one other kid in the room. I introduced myself to him and he introduced himself to me. I will try to quote exactly what he said to the best of my ability " Hi, I'm Mark. I only have 5 shirts and one coat. So, if you don't recognize me by my face or by one of my 5 shirts, then you should be able to recognize me by my coat." While he was talking I noticed he was holding a pencil to the side of his head with his ear and the pencil had a giant pink add on eraser attached to it. Then I noticed what could only be a lunchbox sitting on his desk. After he introduced himself I asked him if he likes living in the big city of Rexburg, Idaho. He said after having lived in Manhattan for 2 years, nothing is a big city and never will be.
Mark is now one of my friends.

If you liked it then you should have...

It's going to be a really really really good year!!

I put a ring on it! Yea, I'm engaged. For those of you who don't quite understand, it means that an insanely beautiful girl agreed to marry me! So, you want to hear the story and how it all happened and such? Yea I thought so, so here it goes. Hope you enjoy it you nosy nosy people.

Early/Mid-December- I started teasing Mallory about when I may propose to her. I would often drop small hints to hopefully lead her into believing that I would be proposing to her on New Year's Eve. Christmas time was coming up and she was heading to Arizona to spend the holidays with her family while I stayed in Idaho and waited for her to come back on New Year's Eve.

Christmas Break- She left to Arizona on December 20th and wasn't coming back til the 31st. Well, the day after Christmas, the 26th, my brother and I got up early and started driving for Arizona. During the drive I had a phone conversation with Mallory where she asked me what the loud noise in the background was (the noise of driving in a car) and I had to make up some excuse about a TV being noisy. She believed it and we kept driving.

It' now 10 p.m. or so the day after Christmas - Mallory had decided to invite a bunch of friends and family friends over to her house for some desserts and visiting time. While these people were at her house I went over to one of their family friends houses. The family friends (which were at Mallory's house at this time due to the "dessert night") asked Mallory to go to their house to pick up a new board game they got for Christmas so that everyone could play it. Mallory agreed and so she and her friend started off for the family friends house.

As Mallory is walking into the house to grab the board game, she is texting me. She walked into the house a few steps and didn't see me to the side of her so I called out her name and she turned around startled at first to find that someone else was in the house, and then got startled again to see that it was me (who she thought was in Idaho the whole time).
I then started into a loving speech and asked her to marry me and she said YES and it was pretty much the best night ever and it still feels like a dream.

So, that's the nutshell version of it all. Now you know and now you can be jealous.
