A page from my mission journal

So, I served my mission in the Canada Toronto East Mission. I tried to write in my journal as often as I could, but I ended up missing days and such. I've been going through my journal and reading it and I thought " I'm going to blog a page of my journal". So, here you go. A page from my journal. This entry covers the period of about two weeks.

"Wow, I really am bad at the journal thing. It's time to update again. So here we go. - On October 10, Elder Hinkle got transferred to Kingston and I stayed here in the Beaches and got a companion named Elder Zweig from Orange County, CA. He is awesome. He is a runner. He once ran 124 miles for a charity.

Before Hinkle left, he really ticked off Brenda Kildy, a less active member. She had told him a few lies about which house she was moving to and with who. So, Hinkle confronted her and called her a liar and she went hysterical and crying and screaming. She was basically hyperventilating, then she told us to leave. When we got home she had left some messages on our phone for Elder Hinkle, telling him that she was going to leave the church. So Hinkle wrote a letter explaining why he said what he said, and why she was a liar, and delivered it to her the next morning in hopes of calming her down. But once again she left 2 messages on our phone after reading the letter. They went something like this "this message is for Elder Hinkle,... YOU are a rotten person mister! I'm done with you.... I'm done with the church... I'm done with the whole rotten business! God is my judge, He is the only one with the right to judge me, YOU don't have that right, you can't judge me..............you Idiot!!" ~~~ Message #2 "Elder Hinkle, after reading your letter, and you calling me a liar, I only have one thing to say to you..... Go To Hell!!""

Haha, So it was a pretty crazy last few days here for Elder Hinkle.

And then Elder Zweig came, and now Brenda has finally calmed down and started coming back to church again. ---Elder Kikuchi of the 70 came to our Zone Conference this month. It was really good. He was really inspiring and gave us a lot of great ideas.

We have ran into quite a few crazy people since Zweig came. One day, Bill Garrett came out with us, and we were all walking on the street. I left Bill and Zweig alone for 2 minutes as I went to talk to some Persian people. When I came back, I found Bill and Zweig talking to a muscular black man with a large coat talking about "right" and "left" angels. The next thing I know, he had us standing on our tippy toes pounding his fist and screaming "Who's your lord!". He then saluted us and introduced himself as "ByronAngel". He somehow "initiated" us into his stupid angel cult, because after this fist pounding and screaming he referred to us as "BabyAngels" or "BoyAngels". Then a random bum poor homeless man shows up out of nowhere, salutes ByronAngel and says "ByronAngel, I am here..... no disrespect sir". Then ByronAngel screamed and pounded his fists and cured the bums smoking problems somehow.

The next thing I knew, we were all skipping down the street together as ByronAngel is beat boxing the sound of a heart beat. I just obeyed the guy because somewhere in the middle of all this he mentioned something about punching someone in the face. So that was crazy. We have had lots of people swear and scream at us.

But our investigator Melissa, with the 2 baby boys is doing really well and wants to be baptized before the end of the year. So that's really good. This last Sunday was stake conference. Mae Fleur from Ossington brought us some "balut" to eat. That fertilized duck egg. So, t wasn't too bad actually. Still.........why do they eat it?
Peace out, the church is true. "

As a side note. Elder Hinkle is an awesome guy. Just in case any of you were worrying about that.
